About the Company

Formed in 1994, Horizon Consulting, Incorporated provides high volume workflow management, application processing, data entry, loan quality control, and due diligence services to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other government agencies and commercial banks.  The company is headquartered in Lansdowne, Virginia, and also has operations in Santa Ana, California; Denver, Colorado; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Atlanta, Georgia. Horizon is certified as both 8(a) and as a Minority and Woman-owned Small Disadvantaged Business.

Our Mission:  The Horizon team is joined together in a commitment to increase the prosperity and well being of ourselves, our company, and that of our clients.  We are committed to honesty, integrity, professionalism, and hard work.  Our mission is to better ourselves, our families, our customers, our vendors, and entire industries by:

  • Helping our clients mitigate the risk of conducting mission-critical operations while reducing expenses.
  • Creating an environment where our employees can be fulfilled in their work and obtain all the tools necessary to successfully grow as leaders at Horizon and in their communities.
  • Giving back to the communities in which we live and work with the goal of making them better in some way.

Our Core Values

From the beginning, Horizon's founders sought to prove that a highly profitable company could - and, in fact, must -- conduct its business according to a strong set of core values.  Today, those values remain the bedrock of Horizon's success.  At Horizon, we don't just talk about honesty, integrity, professionalism, and hard work.  We put these values into action in everything we do - for both our customers and ourselves.

A little history

Launched in 1994, Horizon Consulting, Incorporated is a minority and woman-owned, small business with a long history of providing successful mission-critical services to government agencies of all sizes.  We are a well-established company with a strong corporate culture and an outstanding reputation among our employees, our clients and our vendors.  Most of our contracts are renewed year after year.  For several customers, we have been on the job for over 10 years.  We believe this serves as strong testimony to the way we work and the results we deliver.

A lot of loyalty

"High volume workflow management" is a phrase we coined to describe the more than 40,000 mortgage insurance applications we process every month for HUD, the in-depth quality control underwriting reviews we conduct for 7,500 additional loans, and much more.  Working in such high volume, where both accuracy and timeliness are critical, could potentially be a stressful, pressure-cooker environment that results in employee burnout and high staff turnover.  Yet 30% of our employees have been with us for 10 years or more.  We believe this is a testimony to the way we value and treat our staff, and the way they interact with each other.  Ultimately, employee retention results in better quality service to our clients.

Values to live by

Horizon was founded as a company that would operate on the principles of honesty, integrity, professionalism and hard work.  We have incorporated these values into everything we do, and we believe they are a large part of our success - because when you treat everyone with honesty, trust and respect, it is returned tenfold.
